Slough Dominican Association
An appeal for charitable support from some employees of SEGRO
The Slough Dominican Association has been formed by a group of Dominican families living in the Slough area to raise funds to help rebuild the Caribbean island of Dominica following the destruction of hurricane Maria on 18th September 2017. About 90% of buildings there were damaged leaving families without homes, electricity and fresh water. All members of the Association have family in Dominica, so it is very close to our hearts.
We are appealing to the local community and commercial businesses in the Thames Valley region to help us with our fundraising activities. On 18th November 2017 we held a dinner and dance event in Slough at which we raised over £4,000. With the endorsement of the High Commission for the Commonwealth of Dominica in London we will be continuing to raise funds with further events during 2018 and beyond. Current funds will be used to purchase items to assist schools, health centres and a large Infirmary for the aged based very near to the island capital, Roseau.
Every donation, no matter the size, is appreciated and will help people in need.
