Slough Business Community Partnership Challenge Calendar

Slough Business Community Partnership (SBCP) create partnerships between the private, public and voluntary sectors for the benefits of the communities of Slough.

Below is an outline of the projects currently planned, requiring volunteers between May and July 2022.  There are opportunities for:

  • Interior and exterior maintenance of various premises and facilities
  • Decorating
  • Mentoring
  • Gardening
  • Career advice and Guidance

SWAN LIFELINE ETON:  Maintenance    

Spring return to support this fantastic rescue facility hidden in the Eton Everglades.  Outdoor grounds / painting / clearance / jet washing. Materials provided.  Great hosts & outdoor site to enjoy.  10-12 volunteers  DATE TBC

Learning to Work Events:  Business Mentoring

Friday 29 April – Recycling Solutions Challenge for Year 8 students.
Tuesday 3 May – Mini Vans Challenge for Year 8 both onsite at Slough & Eton School. 7-8 volunteers for each event 8.30am to 3pm.
Fully facilitated by LTW.  Dragons Den set ups.

ST MARY’S SCHOOL Central Slough    & ST PETER’S SCHOOL Burnham – Maintenance
Gardening / painting at St Mary’s School. Thursdays:  May / June / early July (10 vols).  Outdoor space maintenance to support children’s learning.  St Peter’s School Burnham – 27,30,31 May & 1 June dates (up to 10 volunteers) for decorating and gardening.  Site manager guidance.

Four bedrooms require re-decoration – do you have a team that could help for one full day   8-10 volunteers – materials provided.  Charity supporting young mothers in central Slough


Would your team like to support this fantastic facility in Taplow – a specialised play area for those with special needs – always looking to improve / update / refresh their site with new outdoor projects – painting / clearance / cutting back / all benefitting their clients.  Will host small teams of 6 volunteers during the spring / summer on mutually agreeable dates.

SCHOOL YOUTH TALKS: Year 12 & 13 students – Career Mentoring and Advice

1–2-hour classroom sessions (virtual or in person) teacher led to benefit student insights into career journeys.  Share your experiences and benefit Slough’s future workforce – Khalsa and Baylis Schools.  Wednesday opportunities plus more.  Email me.


Needs some TLC – external stripping and repainting all ground story level – could your team help?  8 volunteers

CHARITY HOUSING UNIT   – Garden Maintenance

Garden tidy / furniture painting required in the gardens of three sites in Slough so the clients can enjoy the space fully.  Each space requires a small team of up to 6 people – working to your best activity date.

Windsor Horse Rangers – Decorating

WHR large canteen area needs decorating.  Would suit team of 10-15 volunteers for a one day activity – materials provided. This is a Fifield based charity providing children w/e access to horse care & education.


Lots of opportunities as the site has 27 communal gardens May onwards – keen to get teams to help – cutting back / weatherproofing / weeding / planting.  So, staff / patients and visitors can benefit. Donations of plants / soil welcomed where possible.  8am-3pm daysvarious group sizes considered
